A total environment created inside a community center stairwell, one of those transitional spaces people rush through without paying attention. The floor is painted to look like sky so visitors feel as if they are walking on clouds. Every surface is covered, walls, floors, ceilings, with a rainbow terrazzo concept that engulfs visitors completely. Conceived from the perspective of being seven years old and encountering something that stops you in your tracks. Years later, the JCC commissioned Typoe again for a mural in their new gym, turning a single project into an ongoing relationship with the community.
