Two New Exhibits Open at the Boca Raton Museum of Art: TYPOE GRAN and Modernisms from the Manes Collection - The Boca Raton Tribune

BOCA RATON, FL, March 24, 2026 — Two new exhibitions have opened at the Boca Raton Museum of Art: TYPOE GRAN: Anatomy of a Practice and Modernisms: Art from the Manes Collection. Both exhibitions run from March 25, 2026, to October 11, 2026.

The shows explore how artists create new visual languages in response to political, technological, and social change, and how they adapt, transform, or reject visual conventions to address the pressures of modern life. Both exhibitions highlight the continuity between historical modernism and contemporary artistic practice.

These are the first exhibitions under chief curator Dr. Keffie Feldman.

“These shows may seem somewhat different at first glance, they’re actually part of an art historical conversation that has relevance today,” Feldman said at a preview reception for members Monday evening.

Miami-based artist TYPOE GRAN is featured in his first solo museum exhibition. Known for painting, sculpture, murals, and installation, Gran’s glossy, colorful works belie the creative chaos behind them. TYPOE GRAN: Anatomy of a Practice invites visitors to explore his process, tracing his world-building from concept to execution. The exhibition includes site-specific murals, charcoal drawings, sculpture, and lightboxes, offering an immersive experience.

Major themes of the exhibition include dichotomies in human experience: joy versus anxiety, and nature versus artifice. One highlight is Gran’s largest drawing to date, measuring 10 feet by 25 feet.
