Q&A: Brightline x Typoe

World Red Eye interviewed Typoe following his collaboration with Brightline on a permanent art installation at MiamiCentral, the 11-acre intermodal development in downtown Miami.
On his artistic background: "I'm self taught for the most part. My mom, older sister, and great aunt are all artists so I picked it up from there."
On the mural's concept: "The main concept for the Brightline was movement. I wanted to use optical illusions, color, and design to bring people on a journey."
On Miami's influence: "Miami is completely influencing my work. Just the colors alone that I work with are inspired by the landscape around me."
On artistic evolution: "As I grow up and mature as a person, my work does the same exact thing...I see the world through a much more positive lens now."
The project required over a week of work with 6 assistants working nearly 20-hour shifts, preceded by one to two months of planning. Typoe's installation features movement-themed murals on a main wall and two surrounding columns in MiamiCentral's ticketed guest lobby.
